New challenge for 2017 Learning to Crochet

I have always wanted to be able to Crochet
I have spent hours watching Youtube videos and reading Crochet Books. Everyone said Crochet was easier than knitting but I just could not do it

I went to a Crochet Workshop this week and took two hours to make my first ever Granny Square

Two attempts at making circles. They are not right but I can now see where I have gone wrong

Trying to make a Magic Foundation Loop was driving me crazy. I have now worked out how to make one

Reminder for myself. I make a slip knot by hand holding the end of the wool in my RIGHT HAND not my left as I usually do
So far I am enjoying my new challenge. I think it is good for my brain to learn something new

  1. Dear Marion first let me wish you a very happy new year. I think learning to crochet is a wonderful challenge. It is one I have not managed to achieve. My sweet grandma and mom both did but for some reason I didn't pick up this lovely skill. I think your granny square is beautiful. Isn't it always fun to learn something new? Enjoy your new challenge. Hugs!

  2. You are doing already very well, Marion, with crochet. The granny square came out beautifully And the rounds.. well there is a trick - you have to add stitches in a regular way - books will tell you about this. But they are ok. Have fun. and yes it is good to learn something new.

  3. I'm impressed! My cousin's grandma taught me to do the granny square when I was about 14 years old. I made a few things and then put it aside. A few years ago I decided to try again but made a mess. I apparently wasn't doing something right. I hope you enjoy crocheting.
