Taking the TAST Take a stitch Tuesday Embroidery Challenge again

Sharon is re running the TAST ( Take a stitch Tuesday Challenge ) I started the last one in 2012 and got so behind I gave up. This time I hope to keep up !
This is playing with FLY STITCH and a few beads.  I found the dear little penguins in a book called " Bead Embroidery Stitch Samples " The Tree trunk is a bugle bead and the Penguins have bead heads and bodies.  I don't have any yellow beads so used FRENCH KNOTS instead

Inspired by our old Series 1 Landrover SXF 476

We had to sell our dear old Series 1 Landrover when we moved down from Scotland.  We lived high up in the hills in Perthshire. A kind Gentleman bought her and drove her back to his home on the
Isle of Skye. She was built like a Tank so I hope she is still around

A  POEM IN MEMORY OF SXF 476
She carried logs
 and drove through bogs
She sunk in snow
 we loved her so
But.....she had to go

I tried not to cry
 as I waved her goodbye
She drove off to Skye
 with a lovely guy
We miss her so
But.....she had to go

Our photos of her are fading but our memories will never fade

This photo makes me pine to be back in the Scottish mountains

We had to check underneath for our Chickens before we drove her They loved going to sleep on the axles between the wheels

She was so heavy that she used to sink in heavy snow

Hubby looking after her engine

She is the inspiration for the project I have just started
If anyone sees her on the Isle of Skye please give her a big hug from me
Thanks for dropping by.  Bye for now. Marion x

Embroidery TAKE A STITCH TUESDAY 2012

I have nearly caught up with a few more stitches for the TAST challenge.
This is my pretty pathetic attempt at stitching a cottage in Scotland we lived in for seven years
I have used French Knots, Buttonhole Stitch, Satin Stitch, Wave Stitch, Couching and Coral Stitch.
I am not happy with the roof as it looks as if all the slates have blown off ! I will do a bit more stitching on the roof when I have time : )
The cottage was haunted when we lived there. I wonder if it still is

R I P The Earnley Concourse has sadly closed down : (

Playing with chain stitch using different threads

Using cross stitch and fabric offcuts

Using only running stitch. I must finish this one day.

Earnley Concourse ran some very good courses. This was what I had fun doing on an EXPERIMENTAL EMBROIDERY COURSE a while ago.  We played with lots of threads and fabrics for a few hours. This was the result of using only 3 different stitches, cross stitch, running stitch and chain stitch. This was so relaxing to do. I am so shocked to hear that The Earnley Concourse has closed down

Cross stitch rose and felt needlecase ruined !

I made this cross stitch needlecase many years ago.  The rose design I think was from Framecraft.  www.framecraft.com  After sewing it I turned it over to find I had used some felt I had been stencilling stars on at Christmas......grrrrr....ruined !  My friend Irene is 70 today and she loves roses. I am giving it to her with an apology for the stars.  I hope she still likes it
